I am a big food lover and with that characteristics comes great knowledge. I have been to many restaurants in Montreal, as much places to eat breakfast/ or go for a brunch, places to eat lunch or places to have supper at. Plus I heard it's cuffing season...

I am sharing five places for all breakfast, lunch and supper because the three meal are great to eat and bring different vibes. Breakfast is more refreshing and different than the usual supper. Lunch is nice during a weekend or when people are free during the day, which can be great when a terrace is opened. And as I've said, eating a supper as a date is the typical, since people are more often free after a day filled with either school, work or other time-consuming activities.
Breakfast
1. ($) Duc de Lorraine
This is a small cafe, pastry/bakery place and restaurant to go eat at. I have been so many times with my mother, my father, friends and other family members. It is my go to place when I need to go eat one on one with someone, it is budget friendly for most plates; the staff is lovely, the restaurant's setup looks great between the calm of its secluded street and the overcrowded Cote-des-neiges street. The meals are very filling and tasty.
2.($$) L'Avenue
A restaurant which always has a lineup as soon as it's opened; it's located on the Plateau-Mont-Royal. This one too has a unique vibe to it accompanied with good food. Its reputation won't deceive with their generous plates that are well balanced with their prices. They make remarkable efforts for your brunches to be instagrammable and worth showing off to your followers.
3.($$) Thursday's
Thursday's is a restaurant on Crescent Street, downtown. They have a great brunch menu and a great supper menu. I often went to eat brunch for special occasions such as Mother's Day, Father's Day or someone's birthday. The prices of the meal vary, you can find relatively cheap plates as much as you can find more expensive ones, but one thing guaranteed is you pay for what get which is good food. I have never been disappointed, my family and I have always eaten well there. The service is also good.
4.($$) Régine Café
It is one of the most renown breakfast places in Montreal, situated in Rosemeont-La Petite-Patrie. What makes this place one of a kind is mostly its vibe which can not be found in any other restaurant even less another breakfast place. It is comfortable to eat at with their cute looking chairs and couches and the food is quite good. They are not scared of risking your plate to overspill with all the food they serve you, but it's good you will make sure to finish every tiny bits of items in your plate.
5.($$$) Rosélys
This restaurant is quite expensive to eat breakfast but it is exquisite. I have NEVER ever been disappointed. It is the restaurant situated in the Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth hotel on René-Lévesque street downtown. It is another restaurant we go to for special occasions often Mother's Day to take part in their full brunch. It is a buffet, but with excellent food. They even have chefs who cook on the spot for you deliciousness.
Lunch
1.($) No900
This restaurant is a franchise and has a few locations through out Montreal, but it still stays a very good pizzeria which pretty cheap meals that taste still very good. They offer thin crust pizza which makes it even better since it is light but still filling enough for you not to be hungry after eating there.
2.($$) Maison Christian Faure
Christian Faure won many awards for his pastries and culinary talents, he has since decided to open his own franchise and cooking school. The original store and restaurant is located in the Old Port not far from the Pointe-a-Calliere museum. It was as much a good place to eat desert, to order to go and to sit down and enjoy a nice little meal with someone. It is very small, so it might not be the best idea to go during a busy time like in summer, on a weekend, however it is still worth the wait and worth the crowded environment.
3.($$) Duc de Lorraine

4.($$) L'Arrivage
This restaurant is situated at the top of Pointe-a-Calliere Museum in the Old Port. It has a beautiful view of the St-Laurent River and the vibe of the place is very nice. It is very much secluded since not a lot of people know about it and most clients are visitors from the museum. It's notary big however it is bette like that!
5.($$$) Renoir
This is another quite expensive restaurant but with good food as much as your plate being aesthetic. It is in the Sofitel Hotel situated on Sherbrooke Street. They are respectful of the French costume of serving plates by putting the emphasis on the appearance and taste rather than the quantity, and so, the plates are not very filling but are refined and have an exquisite taste. It is a great place to go on anniversaries, to spice things up a bit or should I rather say to lighten things up a bit.
Supper
1.($) Brigade Pizzeria Napolitaine
A little restaurant situated downtown on Stanley Street, right next to Peel metro station, Brigade Pizzeria Napolitaine. It is a cute place to have a date, because you both get to custom make your own pizza to your own taste and preferences. It is a perfect place to have a first date, because it does not cost much, and when the person prepares their pizza you learn about what they put on their big piece of delicious bread and if they make the mistake of adding pineapples...then you know they are evil..I'm joking, or not. anyway, it is also right next to Scotia Bank Movie Theatre, so right after having eaten a good pizza, you can head to the movies and enjoy the rest of the night.
2.($) Warehouse
The classic go to is Warehouse. It is perfect for students since we don't receive big checks and it is also great for people who like sharing food, a bit like tapas style. Each plate is 5.95$ and they are, for most, little wonders. You get what you pay for, so it's balanced quality/price. Nothing to die for, however you can NEVER go wrong with their donuts accompanied with the little caramel sauce. They have good drinks, not too expensive. One of their two locations is on Crescent Street, downtown, and is also a good place to go eat at before heading to the movies either at Forum AMC, go bowling there or go to Scotia Bank Movie Theatre.
3.($$) Jardin Nelson

This is probably my favourite restaurant in Montreal, everything about it is wonderful, from the live jazz band, to the outdoorsy vibe, to the good food. This restaurant has many things that make it different and even unique. To start, there is always a live jazz band playing to which you can listen to if you are seated inside rather than the terrasse. They also have a vast variety of meals in their menu, from sweet to salty, from light to filling. It is a restaurant where you can go, as much, with family, with friends or with a date...:) Compared to the restaurants named earlier, this one is located in the Old-Port, a place never tired of visiting. The scenery of this part of the city is simply beautiful, from the old rustic look, to the marinas, to the big wheel, to the river you can go along.
4.($$) Il Boccalini
This is my go to restaurant with my family, my parents and my little sister. We all have a soft spot for this restaurant, first of all because they had their little private wedding there and because ever since, we always go there for special occasions. We went after my high school graduation, we went for my parents' anniversary, my sister's birthday, and so, it's a pretty sentimental place that is worth every time. However, there is nothing very much interesting nearby.
5.($$) Thursday's
